With generous funding from the MetLife Foundation, ASA’s MindAlert Program trains members on the newest findings in cognitive fitness, and disseminates information on current research and innovative programs that help older adults maintain and improve cognitive and mental function in their later years.

Now in its 12th year, the ASA-MetLife MindAlert Program expands the visibility of brain health through:

  • The MetLife National Forum on Brain Health featuring nationally recognized experts in the field. The Forum will be held during the 2012 Aging in America Conference on Thursday, March 29th, 2012 8:00am-2:30 pm, Washington, DC. The lectures from the 2011 National Forum on Brain Health are now available here.

  • MindAlert Online Educational Programs, offering live and on-demand web seminars including the Journalists' Exchange on Aging online briefings. The list of presenters includes nationally recognized leaders in brain health and MindAlert Speakers Bureau faculty.  Free CEUs are available!

  • A Summer 2011 issue of Generations, which will focus on brain health and cognitive fitness in later life. It was inspired by ASA’s work with MindAlert, and based on demand from the field for more evidenced-based information.

  • The MindAlert Award, recognizing innovative community-based, nonprofit programs based on research to maintain cognitive fitness in older adults.
