Archstone Foundation has awarded a grant to American Society on Aging to produce a special program as part of their Aging in America conference. The program, entitled “Spirituality: A Dimension of Quality Geriatric and Palliative Care” will take place on Wednesday, March 17 from 1:00–6:00 PM. This half-day program will address the role of spiritual care for older adults living with advanced chronic and/or life threatening illnesses.
Spirituality has been recognized as an essential element of geriatric and palliative care. The program will build upon recommendations developed in 2009 to improve the quality of patient care through two keynote addresses and interactive workshops. Participants will learn about best practices, spiritual assessment tools and quality improvement efforts.
A nominal fee of $15 covers the cost of a reception at the close of the event. Preregistration is required, and attendees must be registered for the Aging in America Conference
