New Book Offers Updates on the
Policy and Politics of Old Age
The New Politics of Old Age Policy (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 2005), edited by Robert B. Hudson, might not sit at the apex of your stack of beach reading this summer, but policy hounds in aging may want to thumb through its 300-plus pages to bone up on key issues before the White House Conference on Aging in December. The 14 essays in the volume examine progressive and conservative perspectives on aging-related policies, as well as population dynamics and the interface of policy and politics. Among the contributors are respected names in the field of aging -- many of them ASA members -- including Robert Binstock, Martha Holstein, Eric Kingson, Marilyn Moon, John Myles and Jon Pynoos. Available in both paperback ($22.95) and hardcover ($58), The New Politics of Old Age Policy book can be ordered online by clicking here.
