RESOURCES AGAINST
ELDER ABUSE
The National Center on Elder Abuse in Washington, D.C., has published a series of six manuals for groups and agencies dealing with the mistreatment of older people:
The guides can be ordered for $15 each from the San Francisco Consortium for Elder Abuse Prevention, Goldman Institute on Aging, 3330 Geary Blvd., San Francisco, CA 94118; (415) 750-4188; fax (415) 750-4179.
The San Francisco Consortium staff, which wrote and produced these manuals, also produce the Nexus newsletter for the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (ncpea) three times a year. Nexus offers updates on the latest print and electronic informational materials; profiles of model programs; and articles on a wide range of topics, such as sexual abuse of elders, the link between animal abuse and elder mistreatment ("animal cruelty . . . is a red flag"), and justice for victims of financial abuse.
