The San Francisco Consortium staff, which wrote and produced these manuals, also produce the Nexus newsletter for the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (ncpea) three times a year. Nexus offers updates on the latest print and electronic informational materials; profiles of model programs; and articles on a wide range of topics, such as sexual abuse of elders, the link between animal abuse and elder mistreatment ("animal cruelty . . . is a red flag"), and justice for victims of financial abuse.

Also recently released is Keeping Nursing Facilities Safe: A Training Program for the Prevention of Abuse, Mistreatment and Neglect, a two-hour instructional program that includes a 12-minute video and a 31-page manual. Created by the Massachusetts Extended Care Federation and the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, it is intended for use in nursing facility staff orientations and continuing education.
