Beth Adams has been the Director of Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels, a community-supported program of the University of Michigan Health System since 2006. During part of this time she also served as Director of the Housing Bureau for Seniors. She has 20 years of experience in the field of aging and holds a BA in Sociology with a minor in Gerontology and a MA in Gerontology. Her experience includes program development and management, IR&A, waiver case management and cultural competency. She has worked in community action, aging network, county and health system settings. Beth has also been involved with grassroots advocacy efforts and led a team to develop and produce an age-sensitivity educational video. She is skilled in resolving operational/structural problems; putting standards in place; developing forms, policy and procedure manuals and marketing materials; and synthesizing large amounts of complex data and presenting it in an easy-to-understand format.
LaShay Anderson is a Social Service Coordinator for PK Management and has been so for the last five years. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Service and Master of Arts in Human Services. LaShay currently leads a five person team of Social Service Coordinators, all of which are located throughout the United States, serving as the Senior Social Service Coordinator. Her duties include planning and overseeing programs such as Health Clinics, Fall Prevention Programs, and Fraud and Safety Programs. In 2014, she was recognized by and received an Excellence in Service Coordination Award from The Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association (SAMHA).
Kelly Barrows has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Master of Science in Social Administration. She has twenty years’ experience working with adults as a therapist and clinical supervisor. Most recently she has worked as a Senior Social Service Coordinator at PK Management. Currently she is supervising a team of social service coordinators at affordable housing properties for seniors, families, and disabled residents. Kelly’s skill and experience is now assisting her to advocate for countless people and support her team at PK Management to develop programs that will benefit both residents and communities. In the state of Ohio Kelly is a Licensed Independent Supervising Social Worker, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III, and she is an Internationally Certified Gambling Counselor.
Julie Bates has a degree in Recreation Therapy, a Master’s Degree in Gerontology and is pursuing a PhD. She began with AARP in 2002 with more than 15 years of experience in the field of aging, including work with RCFE’s, Home Health Agencies and at the California Department of Aging where she was an Aging Programs Analysist II in the MSSP program and then the Public Information Officer. Since joining AARP she has built volunteer teams throughout the region increasing volunteer involvement. Julie is the matrix manager for local advocacy, long-term care services and supports and the greater Sacramento area. In addition to her work at AARP, Julie teaches Diversity in Aging for the University of Southern California.
Charmeda Berkley-McCready is the Director of Programs for Baltimore Neighborhoods, Inc. (BNI). She manages both the Fair Housing and Tenant Landlord Departments for Maryland's sole Fair Housing nonprofit enforcement agency. She has a BA in International Studies and Economics and a MA in Nonprofit Management. For the last sixteen years, Charmeda has committed her career to eliminating housing and disability discrimination. A majority of her work has been advocating on behalf of seniors with disabilities. She and her team fight against discrimination by assisting Seniors with obtaining reasonable accommodations and reasonable modifications, and by educating seniors, Senior Advocates and others community stakeholders on local, state, and federal Fair Housing Laws.
Kris Boler is an Older Adult Behavioral Health Specialist with Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. She joined the staff in November 2015. Kris has spent the last 1.5 years as a Long Term Care Innovator Agent and has worked through many complex case meetings. She is a member of multiple interdisciplinary teams and committees to improve patient outcomes, service delivery & education. In the next ten years, Kris hopes to play an integral role in truly integrating behavioral health, physical health and long term care in Oregon.
Danielle R. Bouchard is the Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors (HUBS) Organizer at Strong City Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland. HUBS helps older adults apply for home improvements to make their houses healthier and more secure, so they can remain in their homes longer. In May 2015, Danielle received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Print Media. During her undergraduate experience, Danielle worked as the Legislative Advocate Intern for AARP Maryland for two legislative sessions and conducted research during the interim.
Pamela Brackett has a Master’s in Nonprofit Organizations and is new to the Fairhill Partners organization and the field of aging. A member of the Health Promotion staff, she is the Program Coordinator for OASIS CATCH Healthy Habits. She is a master trainer for A Matter of Balance and a Coach for the Stanford University evidence-based self-management programs. Pamela’s solid foundation in chronic-disease and obesity prevention includes managing prevention and risk-reduction programs in Alcohol and Drug Abuse, coordination of initiatives for tobacco control, health literacy, food access, HIV/AIDS, worksite wellness, and health promotion campaigns.
Megan Burke is Policy Analyst at The SCAN Foundation where she evaluates and reports on state and federal legislation and regulation related to aging, health, and long-term services and supports. She has experience in public policy, coalition building, and direct practice. Prior to working for the Foundation, Megan served as the Senior Policy Analyst for a center for independent living in Missouri, working to improve access to home- and community-based services. Her direct practice experience includes care coordination with older adults and people with disabilities. Megan has a Master’s degree in Social Work.
Alexis Carter has centered her Social Work practice on finding palliative-focused solutions to assist clients in providing the most complete and compassionate care for their loved ones. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker (NYS), an Advanced Professional Life Care Manager (ALCA) and a Qualified Dementia Care Specialist (AFA). She holds an MSW and a BA in Community Studies. Alexis has over a decade of experience in healthcare management in hospital settings, in Licensed Home Care settings and in Public Health settings. Alexis serves on the Teaching Faculty at the Brookdale Center for Healthy Aging.
Heather Chun is an MSW and the Director of Technical Assistance at the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA). Heather has studied and worked in the human service field for over ten years. Prior to working for NAPCA, Heather has worked for the University of Hawaii, Center on Aging and Hawaii State Unit on Aging (Executive Office on Aging). Her experience in aging policy, program development and evaluation, and advocacy has focused on areas related to caregiving, elder abuse, Alzheimer's disease and Related Dementias, long-term services and supports, community planning, and volunteerism.
Melanie Collins joined Mature Services in June 2015 as Program Manager for a new division of the organization, The Encore Career Network. The program is a part of the Cleveland Foundation’s Encore Cleveland initiative. The Encore Career Network draws upon the expertise, passion and talents individuals (ages 50+) have gained over their career to assist non-profit and government agencies further their missions through paid part-time positions. Prior to joining Mature Services, she was Director of Programs at a volunteer center, HandsOn Northeast Ohio and did community and corporate engagement at a Boson-based nonprofit, Cradles to Crayons.
Jessy Cudworth is the Assistant Director of the Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Dept. Part of her duties include the management of the Brattleboro Senior Center. She has been in this role since 2012. Recently she joined the newly formed Vermont Association of Senior Centers and Meal Sites (VASCAMP) which strives to strengthen the professional skills of Senior Center/Meal Site staff, promote growth and quality of those Centers, and advocate at the State level for the aging population of Vermont.
Krystal Culler is the inaugural Director of the Center 4 Brain Health at Menorah Park Center for Senior Living, the first non-pharmacological, non-hospital based Brain Health Center in the Cleveland, Ohio area for people living in the community concerned about their memory and thinking skills. She has a Master’s degree in Psychology of Adult Development and Aging, Graduate Certificate in Gerontology, and Bachelors of Arts degree with a double major in Gerontology and Sociology and a minor in Developmental Psychology. She is a current Doctor of Behavioral Health Candidate.
Katrina Dale is a Program Associate with the Center for Benefits Access and Home Equity Initiatives for the National Council on Aging (NCOA). In this role, she provides technical assistance to state and community agencies in helping older adults access public and private benefits and assist with special projects related to reverse mortgages. Katrina has previous experience with promoting the continuity of care and access to services for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and familial caregivers in healthcare settings. She holds a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree with a concentration in Gerontology and a Master’s of Social Work degree with a Specialist in Aging Certificate.
Samantha Dar has a degree in social work and a certificate in gerontology. She has been certified in such evidence-based programs as Matter of Balance, Healthier Living, and Memory Care. Samantha has served as a mentor to student interns. She has been a Resident Service Coordinator for the past 14 years and absolutely loves helping seniors. In addition to serving on the Elder Abuse Task Force, she has developed intergenerational programs to connect seniors with youths. Samantha lives and works in Asian/Pacific Islander communities and is learning elementary Korean.
Sharon Dean-Boxall is a Case Manager HUBS coordinator for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland. She received her BS from TSU in 1990. After her 25 year career with many Maryland based non-profits providing both direct service and supervisory support to aging and at risk populations, Sharon is currently working on a project to assist seniors in Baltimore assess housing upgrades through existing government and non-profit programs. She is a regular contributor to The Energy Advocates Committee and is a strong supporter of fair utility assess for all. She recently collaborated on legislative proposals that will insure that the most vulnerable people have affordable energy. She currently resides in Baltimore Maryland with her two children Thomas and Sonja.
Robyn Dorsey is the Program Manager at the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition where she oversees the SOAR initiative advocating for Age-Friendly Banking and connecting older adults to community resources. Prior to coming to MCRC, Robyn was a Regional Organizer at NCRC where she provided technical support in leveraging the Community Reinvestment Act to organizations from Maryland to Maine. She has a Masters of Social Work in Social Action and Community Development. Robyn is particularly interested in learning more about engaging older adults to leverage their experience and skills to improve the aging experience.
Sue Doss currently works as Senior Social Service Coordinator Supervisor at Grandview Manor in Pennsylvania. She has eight years’ experience in this component of the Aging field. Sue previously worked as a Drug/Alcohol and Mental Health Counselor, with both young and elderly addicted clients. She received her BA in 2006.
Deborah Enty is currently Eliza Bryant Village Chief Operating Officer & Administrator where she is responsible for all operations of the Nursing Home and Business Office, including facility compliance with governmental regulations and supervision of all nursing home departments. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 2007. Deborah started with Eliza Bryant Village in 2001 and has served as Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
Randy Feliciano is Program Manager with the National Council On Aging (Center for Benefits Access) where he provides technical support to benefit enrollment centers throughout the U.S and spearheading several committees of national non-profit organizations and federal government agencies focused on providing guidance and leadership for low-income Medicare beneficiaries. During his career, Randy has served as a recreation leader at an area nursing home and Director of Therapeutic Recreation at a 250 bed nursing and rehabilitation facility, which operated a specialty Alzheimer’s care center. He completed his graduate studies in Public Administration (with a concentration on government and non-profit management) and decided that he wanted to work within local government and the non-profit sectors, where he could assist older adult’s access benefits.
Mary Flett is a licensed psychologist in Sonoma, California, who focuses her practice on aging issues, partnering with medical professionals, integrative medicine practitioners, and complimentary health providers to support older adults in acquiring, maintaining, and improving their quality of life. She has worked in private practice, community-based agencies, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and has provided services in both state and county government behavioral health systems. She is the author of “Mastering the DSM-5” and “Five Pillars of Aging” (in press). She is the principle and originator of Five Pillars of Aging Seminars. She completed her Master’s and PhD at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, in Palo Alto, California.
Venis Frazier serves as the Senior Services Supervisor at the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA). With nearly eight years in the field of aging she currently manages the Resident Services Coordination Program which focuses on helping CHA seniors increase their quality of life. This program has over 50 RSC's serving over 10,000 seniors in senior designated, family, mixed income and scattered sites. In 2014 Venis co-presented a workshop with the American Heart Association which discussed how seniors increased their knowledge associated with the risks of high blood pressure and to help them better manage the condition. She has a BS in Information Systems.
Shannon Gadd is the Senior Director of Programs at ElderServe in Louisville, KY. In the last six years she has overseen the g of care management, the growth of telephone reassurance, the creation of a friendly visitor program, and the genesis of a new wellness program. She also directs Crime Victim Services which annually supports 1,200 victims 60+. In addition to presenting to professionals, she speaks directly to seniors about protecting themselves from crime. Shannon is a US Fulbright Scholar, completing her master’s degree in criminology and her bachelor’s degrees in administration of justice and psychology.
Nancy Galbraith has served as the Program Specialist at the Schmieding Center for Health and Education in Bella Vista since 2013. She oversees the management and daily operations of the Bella Vista Health Resource Center, with the assistance of a nurse practitioner and volunteers. She provides seniors and community members with monthly education opportunities, aging information, consultations and referrals. In addition, she is responsible for the planning and execution of the Senior Expo, Senior Health Fair, and Community Directory. Nancy has a BS in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, an AS degree in Physical Therapy, and is a Certified Dementia practitioner. She has 30 years of experience working with seniors in various settings and her second language is sign language.
Natalie Galucia is the Director of Village to Village Network and is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and development of the Network. Village to Village Network is a national peer to peer network that assists communities in starting and sustaining grassroots, membership organizations called Villages. She has a BSW and a MSW with a concentration in Gerontology and emphasis on policy. During her MSW program, Natalie completed an internship in Washington, DC with Age4Action Network as a policy intern working on the reauthorization of the Older Americans Act. She started her career with Village to Village Network as Member Services Coordinator in 2012.
Lavinia Goto is currently Project Manager, Long Term Care Innovation with Northwest Senior & Disability Services and has spent most of her career working in health care or health care administration in some capacity. For the last eight years she has worked hard to promote evidence-based self-management classes for people living with chronic conditions, across Oregon. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, a Master’s in Public Health, a Master’s in Business Administration, and a Doctoral degree in Health Administration. Besides being a registered nurse, she is a certified diabetes educator and holds a certificate in Gerontology.
Erica Hall currently works for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) in Washington, DC, as the Special Assistant to the Chief of Membership & Policy. One of Erica’s functions as Special Assistant is to provide support to the NCRC National Neighbors Silver (NNS) Program, which is a multi-year campaign to empower, organize and support economically vulnerable older adults. Erica is also researching and writing a paper on “Age Discrimination in the Workplace for Women 50+”. In the past, she has worked with the Coalition for the Homeless and the Urban Justice Center in NYC as a shelter monitor investigating elder abuse and other conditions among seniors in the NYC shelter system.
Chelsea Hayman has a Master’s Degree in Social Anthropology with a focus in workplace psychology and currently works at Civic Works as the Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors (HUBS) Coordinator within Elder Services. HUBS is an initiative created by a collaboration of service providers to secure significant housing rehabilitation and related services for Baltimore City older adults. Chelsea oversees the work of the five organizations that participate in this project by providing guidance to their employees and monitoring program outcomes. Chelsea possesses five years of experience in human services and nonprofit management in Baltimore City.
Bethany Henderson is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker and the SAGECAP Program Manager of the LGBT Health Resource Center (LHRC) of Chase Brexton Health Care, where she is working to implement programs and services for LGBT older adults and their informal caregiving networks. Through a partnership with SAGE (Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders) and generous funding from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, the SAGECAP program was launched in September 2015 to provide support and care for LGBT older adults and their informal caregiving networks. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with a clinical concentration in mental health. Previously, Bethany worked as an HIV and sexual health outreach coordinator, developing sexual health psychoeducational groups, providing HIV education and working with LGBT patients with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
Antoinette Howze is currently the Director of Nursing Services for McGregor Gardens which is a 210 bed facility in East Cleveland that provides LTC, skilled care, assisted living, and independent living. In the position, she provides supervision, guidance, education, and motivation to a nursing staff of over 100 employees. Antoinette has been working in long term care for four years and finds caring for the aging population quite rewarding. Her nursing career started 8 years ago with on a medical surgical floor at Cleveland Clinic Hospital.
Kimberly Iapalucci (Kim) is the Associate State Director, Communications, for AARP’s Delaware State Office. She works closely with the media, community partners, and communications staff in legislative offices to enhance the AARP brand and ensure AARP has a presence in Delaware. In this current role, she creates strategic communications plans and ensures they are effective. In keeping with AARP’s focus on empowering people age 50-plus, she collaborates on AARP initiatives such as Caregiving and Financial Resilience. She is the staff lead for Fraud Watch Network and Life Reimagined in Delaware. Previously, Kim was Public Relations Manager for Community College of Philadelphia and prior to that, she was a Legislative Specialist with the General Assembly of New Jersey. Kim has a Master of Science in Non-Profit Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Art History.
April Jakubec is currently a PhD student at University Massachusetts Boston in the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development. She is focused on developing a Human Rights based approach to institutional care for adults with mental illnesses and intellectual disabilities. April has enjoyed many international opportunities promoting self-advocacy and developing arts-expression programs for various adult populations. On a five-year track to graduating with her PhD, other aspirations include publishing accessible human rights educational materials along with practical guides to maintain and preserve the dignity of those aging with mental illnesses.
Cheryl Johnson has been employed by PK Management LLC for seven years. She began employment with them as a Social Service Coordinator working with the senior and disabled populations in Kansas City, Kansas. Cheryl currently holds the position of Manager of Crisis Management within the company and continues to fulfill her role of providing services to the senior population with the goals of assisting them to age gracefully and safely in place. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Master's of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Karen Kali serves as Program Manager of NCRC’s National Neighbors Silver initiative, working with 26 local partners to enhance the economic security of low- to moderate-income older adults, including providing technical assistance, training and thought leadership around Aging in Community and Age-Friendly Banking. She served as a Housing Analyst with Sage Computing and managed volunteers in the Representative Payee program with the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County, MD. As a Technical Assistance Specialist with NCB Capital Impact, Karen helped design and launch the Village-to-Village Network. She holds a Master Degree in Community and Regional Planning, a BA in Sociology, and is a Certified Planner.
Phoebe Klaer is the Senior Administrative Analyst with Multnomah County Adult Protective Service, a position she has held for almost two years. Since beginning work with the County, she has created a data collection and reporting system for the APS unit. Phoebe’s passion is applying Lean Six Sigma tools in human and social service settings to enable excellent service and to facilitate service delivery.
Cheryl Krisko is the Chief Program Officer at North Shore Elder Services an Area Agency on Aging and Aging Service Access Point located on the North Shore of Massachusetts. In this role, she provides oversight for: the Home Care Program, Community Programs, Age Info, Nursing Programs, and Elder Protective Services. Cheryl has over 30 years’ experience in the field of aging in hospital, home, and primary care environments. She is a Registered Nurse, a certified Information and Referral Specialist in Aging/Disability, and a certified Options Counselor. Cheryl has presented nationally on the medical advocacy program, “At Your Side” and is the current project manager for the U. S. Department of Justice Office on Violence against Women, Confronting Abuse in Later Life grant.
Kristie Kulinski is an Aging Services Program Specialist at the Administration for Community Living/Administration on Aging (ACL/AoA) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She serves as the team lead for ACL/AoA’s chronic disease self-management education (CDSME) initiative. Prior to joining ACL/AoA, she held positions with the National Council on Aging and Partners in Care Foundation. Her experience has focused on providing expertise, guidance, technical assistance, and other support to state and community-level aging services and public health organizations on the topics of CDSME and other evidence-based health promotion programs. Kristie has a BS in Human Development and Family Studies and an MSW.
Toshia Lewis is currently the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) Specialist at the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission, Area Agency on Aging which provides information and assistance, assessment and referrals to community services, case management, nursing home transitions, and options counseling. She has been with ADRC for five years. With a rich background in Human Services, Toshia has worked in Community Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, Child Protective Services, and Aging Services.
Sarah Lovegren is an External Relations Coordinator with Benefits Data Trust (BDT), where she is responsible for developing and managing partnerships to support BDT’s projects serving low-income seniors in Maryland, South Carolina, and Colorado and for promoting BDT’s mission and Service Delivery Model. Prior to this role, she provided direct client support for BDT’s PA Benefits Center, helping hundreds of low-income seniors access public benefits and community services. Sarah is excited to contribute to the growth of BDT over the next ten years and by that point hopes to have earned her MBA.
Wing (Heidi) Lum is the Associate Manager with Asian Services in Action, Inc. (ASIA, Inc.). Her primary responsibilities include delivering welfare counselling, providing cultural education and advising on transition to retirement. She is fluent in Chinese and English. Most of the clients that she serves either immigrants or refugees. Heidi assists clients who have limited English proficiency with how to deal with retirement, how to adjust as a result of a major life event, providing and explaining public benefits, and coordinate outreach opportunities. The goal is to empower seniors and adults with disabilities to age successfully by providing resources and support that preserve their independence. Heidi has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentration in Risk Management and Insurance.
Nakia Mack is the Program Manager for the Community Health Resource Division for Keswick Multi-Care Center located in Baltimore, Maryland. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health and a Master’s in Public Health. Since 1999, Nakia has served in the community health field as an advocate for the underserved and worked for social justice. Prior to her current position, she served in the United States Army as Sergeant and then Caseworker. After four years in the field, she transitioned to advocacy and became a Care Transition Liaison with Keswick Multi-Care Center and eventually transitioned to Program Manager.
Linda Madsen is the Dissemination Coordinator and a Project Director for the North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities at Minot State University, Minot, North Dakota. As Project Director for the North Dakota Senior Medicare Patrol (ND SMP), she oversees project staff and volunteers as they provide education and training on Medicare and healthcare fraud to Medicare beneficiaries throughout ND. Linda has over 25 years of experience working with adults with disabilities. She is a MSU graduate with a master’s degree in Communication Disorders.
Gary McHenry is the Director of Education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science’s Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education located in Springdale, Arkansas. His focus at the Center is the delivery of community programs on healthy aging, continuing education programs related to healthy aging for community health professionals, and offering its nationally recognized, evidence-based program for training home caregivers known as the Schmieding Method. Prior to joining the Center, he served as a computer systems analyst and as the Director of Credit Studies for the University of Arkansas School of Continuing Education and Academic Outreach. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and a Doctor of Education degree with a focus on workforce development.
Robert Minton is a Licensed Master Social Worker with six years’ experience serving residents and their families within a highly-rated nursing home. He also serves as a volunteer within the Caregiver Support Group for a major medical center in Westchester County, NY. Currently, Mr. Minton is contemplating a number of alternatives to further his interest in working with and exploring opportunities to serve the elderly.
Ashley Muraoka-Mamaclay is the Director of Outreach and Education for the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging. She has studied and worked in the field of aging for over ten years, receiving her Masters of Urban and Regional Planning and Certificate of Gerontology from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. Ashley has done extensive research in the areas of Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities, Universal Design, Aging in Place, Elder Friendly Communities, Land Use Planning, Social Service and Community Planning. Prior to her current position, Ashley has worked at the Hawaii Executive Office on Aging and the Elderly Affairs Division on Oahu, Hawaii.
Gudrun Price currently works for PK Management, LLC, a nationwide management company specializing in Section 8 affordable housing properties as a Senior Social Service Coordinator. She has over ten years’ experience in the field of Senior Social Services. Gudrun currently over sees a low-income affordable housing unit for senior and disabled persons where she provides case management, links residents to service providers and monitors services. She is also responsible for supervising seven other Resident Service Coordinators throughout the Southern Ohio region. Gudrun is a native of Munich, Germany and graduated with a BA in Business Management.
LaJean Ray is Director of Fatima Family Center, Cleveland, Ohio. The center provides services to families in Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood including transitional services; services to children and their families; and services to older adults. Her experience with older adults includes managing a senior program that serves individuals 55 and older. In October 2015, the center opened a new state of the art senior space with technology, arts, teleconferencing classes and various other adult program options. LaJean holds an Associate’s Degree in Mental Health Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History, and a Master of Arts Degree in History.
Stephanie Rodriguez works as a Social Services Coordinator II for PK Management, an affordable housing company. She has been working as a Social Services Coordinator for 2 years. Stephanie is committed to advocating for older adults and ensuring that they are connected to resources so that they can age well in the community. Prior to her current position, she worked for a non-profit that served older adults in San Francisco.
Brenda Rosencrantz is Director of Adult Community Services at The Coordinating Center where she chairs the Evidence-Based Best Practices Committee. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a joint concentration in Clinical Practice and Social Administration/ Community Organizing. She has worked in the disabilities field for over 18 years but is relatively new to the field of aging. She is a member of Maryland’s Coalition on Mental Health and Aging and serves on the state’s Social Work Careers in Aging Planning Committee, working to promote geriatric social work as a profession. Under her leadership, The Center’s Adult Services team provides care coordination to over 3,400 individuals with complex medical needs throughout Maryland.
Monica Ross is a Program Supervisor with Aging Disabled and Veterans Services Division in Multnomah County, Portland Oregon. She has worked for nearly 19 years with the aging and disabled population in the State of Oregon. In the next ten years, Monica hopes to train current future staff, to better equip them with the tools they need to meet the needs of our customers in navigating services offered by the county. She wants to be more than a supervisor, she wants to be a leader and better understand her role and purpose in leading her teams. Monica wants to create an environment of engagement.
Brandi Schneider has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Gerontology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work with an emphasis on Gerontological Administration. She has worked in a variety of geriatric settings, including nursing homes, in-patient geriatric psychiatry, home health, adult day services, and caregiver education. Brandi currently works at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/Schmieding Center for Senior Education as the Coordinator of Aging Services. In her role, she offers individualized education and support to older adults and their families, as well as, group support and community education. She is involved in program development and community collaboration efforts.
Kathleen Shada is a Resident Service Coordinator with MJ Housing and Services and has thrived in the aging field for over 20 years. She has worked with diverse people, who have a wide range of physical, cognitive and coping abilities. As a Resident Service Coordinator, Kathleen assists over 240 people who live in affordable housing. This housing provides homes for people who are over 62 years or who have a disability. She empowers her Residents to successfully fulfill their needs and desires with dignity and pride.
Sanya Smith is a Human Service Specialist at the Department of Aging & Disabilities, Annapolis, MD where she has received executive recognition for ten years of service with older adults and individuals with disabilities. She serves as a Options Counselor and Certified Information and Referral Specialist responsible for connecting consumer with resources. Sanya began her career at the Department as a Case Manager and prior to that she worked as a Mental Health Counselor and Educator. She has a Bachelor of Arts & Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Communication concentration.
Sarah Smith, MSW, MPH is a Learning and Effectiveness Associate at Missouri Foundation for Health, a philanthropic organization working with communities and nonprofits to generate and accelerate positive changes in health. She is part of a team responsible for assessing and strengthening the Foundation’s overall effectiveness. Her experience in the field of aging includes social work in a long-term care community, coordinating health services at a community health center, and volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Association as a support group leader. Additionally, she has conducted research on HIV prevention for adults over 50.
Karalin Sprague is the Manager of Lifelong Learning at Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE), where she manages and evaluates the art, cultural, education, and technology programs at SAGE senior centers in New York City. As an LGBT advocate and community member, her passion is offering high-quality, data-driven programming to support LGBT older adults as they age actively and healthfully in their communities. Prior to this position, Karalin worked primarily in international development. She serves on the board of SeniorNet, an organization that provides older adults access to technology education. She has an MSW with a specialization in non-profit management and a BA in Sociology.
Matt Stevens has worked with Benefits Data Trust (BDT) since 2010. In his role as Analytics Manager, he collaborates across departments to develop, implement, and measure the impact of data-driven strategies for helping low-income individuals access the benefits and services they need. He also works closely with external partners at state agencies and research institutions to
manage the transfer of data and support the design and implementation of research studies regarding access to benefits and their impact on health outcomes. Matt has over a decade of federal and not-for-profit data analysis experience; prior to BDT, he worked as a Mathematical Statistician at the U.S. Census Bureau, and he holds a Master’s in Survey Methodology from the University of Maryland – College Park.
K. Rae Suber-Johnson believes in the positive power of intervention. She was recently hired by MJ Housing and Services as a Regional Services Coordination Manager at Crescent Manor Residence, allowing her to practice the macro-social work approach that she loves while assisting colleagues and partners in the SF Bay Area as they improve their Service Coordination Programs. Rae earned a BA in Social Work in 1992 and is completing an MBA. Rae’s career journey, from direct services provision with homeless youth in Northwest Arkansas, to management of HIV prevention programs in Flint, MI, then management of emergency shelter and housing programs for currently and formerly homeless youth and adults in San Francisco and Berkeley, has uniquely prepared her for this new role.
Jennifer Vincenzo, PT, MPH, PhD, CHES, GCS is an Assistant Professor in the newly developed Physical Therapy program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where she teaches geriatric and neurology content. She is the Arkansas state advocate for the academy of geriatric physical therapy. Jennifer has been working with older adults throughout her 17 year career and is a board certified clinical specialist in geriatric physical therapy. She recently was selected for a 2016 fellowship for junior faculty by the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program through the HRSA. Her research interests are developing and evaluating clinically feasible interventions to decrease fall risk and mobility decline among older adults.
Wendy Webster joined Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) in May 2015 as Operations Manager for Maryland Program Services, recently adopting the responsibility of Vice President. In this role, she leverages 25 years of operations excellence, general management experience, and broad community leadership to oversee client management, project management, building administration, program logistics, contracts management and optimizing staff performance. She completed marketing and business studies at Nazareth College, and she is also a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, NY. Wendy is the Chair of the Board of Directors for Saint Agnes Hospital Foundation, and a trustee of the Message of Hope Foundation. In her time at Saint Agnes Hospital Webster, Wendy has directly enhanced the senior outreach program.
Tori Windsor Foisy is the Case Management Supervisor for the Coastal Regional Commission Area Agency on Aging. She joined the Regional Commission in 2007 and was promoted to a leadership role in 2014. In her current role, she is responsible for program development, advocacy, staff training, marketing, and management of Care Transitions, Case Management, and Telephone Reassurance Programs in Coastal Georgia. She has a Master’s degree in Counseling, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Certificate in Gerontology, and is a certified Information & Referral Specialist in the field of Aging & Disabilities. Tori has a background in behavioral health and more than 12 years of experience in human services.
