Technology, Accessibility & Transportation

Every day there are new devices, services and software geared toward the burgeoning population of elders—most of whom reportedly want to remain at home in the community. But which “smart home” technology actually works to help elders remain home longer? What’s the latest in volunteer car sharing or green building near transportation hubs? What about co-housing for women living alone? How long can someone with dementia remain on their own? At what point can older adults no longer drive? Our members are in the field testing models and passing the results along to you. Check this topic page often, as this realm is ever-changing.
