Medications are probably the single most important factor in preventing illness, disability and death in the older population, but older people are also at greatest risk for medication-related problems--possibly the third leading cause of death in people older than 65. This issue provides a practical look at what practitioners and caregivers need to know about maximizing the benefits and minimizing the problems of medication.
