For the first time in history, four active, healthy generations are living side-by-side. Now, saddled with stereotypes and outdated assumptions, society and media must grapple to define who this 70+ set is, and what exactly they need and desire.

Digging right to the heart of the matter is THE AGE OF LOVE, a new documentary marking its NYC premiere at the DOC NYC Film Festival on November 15 at 2:15 pm at the SVA Theatre, 333 W. 23 St. (http://www.docnyc.net/film/the-age-of-love/)

Set against a first-of-its-kind speed dating event for 70- to 90-year-olds, Steven Loring’s feature follows the comically poignant adventures of 30 seniors, suddenly forced to take stock of life-worn bodies and still-hopeful hearts. Fearlessly candid about themselves and what they’re seeking, these WWII babies soon discover how the search for love changes—or doesn’t change—from first love to the far reaches of life.

A winner of the Paley Center Doc Pitch Competition and awarded a Fledgling Fund grant—for films that “have the potential to change hearts and minds” in American culture—THE AGE OF LOVE screened at the AARP National Expo in Boston. With a goal of creating a national dialogue about our oldest generation, the production team plans a Valentine’s Day 2015 screening launch to include actual senior speed dating events in 25 markets.

To be presented as a workshop at the ASA's 'Aging in America' conference in March, THE AGE OF LOVE is a must-see for social workers and other aging servces practitioners. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director and ASA member Steven Loring, joined by two of the 70+ speed daters featured in the film.
