Calling All Volunteers!
Join the CMS MedicareRx Volunteer Initiative
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and
the Administration on Aging (AoA) recently launched the CMS MedicareRx Volunteer
Initiative, a service designed exclusively for State Health Insurance Assistance
Programs (SHIPs), Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and other select CMS MedicareRx
partners.
The CMS MedicareRx Volunteer Initiative is a national volunteer corps
of individuals committed to providing personalized assistance to people
with Medicare who need help understanding and joining a prescription
drug plan. CMS has partnered with the Web site VolunteerMatch.org to
recruit, train and deploy volunteers. Prospective volunteers can register
on the Web site at http://www.volunteermatch.org/volunteers/resources/medicarerx.jsp.
