Update on Training
To help educate people with Medicare about the new prescription drug
coverage, the American Society on Aging (ASA) teamed with Pfizer to
conduct training with community-based organizations (CBOs) across the
country. This partnership trained 2,438 individuals in July, October
and November of 2005. Attendees included healthcare professionals, social
workers and senior facility owners.
Overall, feedback from the training sessions was positive. One participant,
Eowyn Powell of CMS Region 5, commented, “The training served
as a great outlet to inform the public, as well as to clear up any misconceptions
about the benefit that people may have had. The audience asked a lot
of great questions, and I am still getting questions over email from
those who attended. I am thankful for the opportunity to be their source
of information.”
