ASA AdviceLine
ASA AdviceLine is designed to expand opportunities for learning and professional development. The program is designed for ASA students and professionals in the beginning or middle of their careers who wish to grow as leaders and as professionals.
ASA AdviceLine maintains the classic one-to-one mentoring experience, while relying primarily on a combination of e-mail, phone and fax. Face-to-face meetings will likely be the exception, not the rule. Using this approach, mentoring partnerships can develop even between individuals living in different part of the country - or the world.
Mentoring partnerships initially are expected to be established with a specific purpose and for a limited time. Successful mentoring partners are encouraged to expand their focus and continue their relationship as long as they wish.
There are no hard and fast rules for a mentoring relationship -- flexibility and commitment are the key. However, we've created a few suggestions to help ensure a successful mentoring experience.
If you wish to become an e-mentor, use the e-mentor profile form.
If you wish to become an e-learning partner, first view a list of prospective mentors, then contact the member that mostly closely matches your interests by using the web form provided.
