Teaching/Training Modules on Trends in Health and Aging
Since January 1, 2003 the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), the American Society on Aging (ASA), and the University of Michigan Social Science Data Analysis Network (SSDAN), with support from the National Institute on Aging, have been developing teaching modules on trends in health-related behaviors, health status, health care utilization, functional status and disability, and health care expenditures of the United States aging population. The modules are based on and illustrated with data from the NCHS Data Warehouse on Trends in Health and Aging. The modules are designed for use by teachers at the secondary, undergraduate and graduate levels for courses in aging, sociology, demography, public health, medicine, and for self-study by health and aging professionals.
