Multicultural Tour of Washington, DC

Wednesday, March 28 | 5:30–8:30 pm
Fee: $60 (Open to the first 65 registrants; pre-registration required)

Tour Washington, DC on a private coach with a professional DC tour guide highlighting the major multicultural points of interest in this vibrant city. You will visit the African American Civil War Memorial, Martin Luther King Memorial, China Town, Mexican Cultural Institute, Islamic Center, Library of Congress, National Cathedral and Ford’s Theatre.

NCOA: NISC Silent Auction and Reception

Fee: $10 (Pre-registration required)

This is the premier-networking event for senior center professionals and an opportunity to honor award-winning colleagues. In addition you’ll meet the National Institute of Senior Centers leadership along with your state delegate.

Join us for networking and an opportunity to learn about how to get the most out of the conference.

Dinner out on the Town: Lebanese Taverna 

Friday, March 30 | 6:30–8:30 pm

Fee: $69 (Open to the first 65 registrants; pre-registration required)

Enjoy traditional Lebanese taste sensations as you chat with colleagues and meet new friends. The restaurant is a short one-block walk from the hotel and features scrumptious delights such as hommos, baba ghannouge, m’saka and fresh grilled meats, fish and vegetables.

NCOA: NISC Leo Laks Memorial Luncheon

Thursday, March 29 | 11:30 am–1:00 pm

Fee: $45 (Open to the first 150 registrants; pre-registration required)

Take a virtual tour of three accredited senior centers. These cutting-edge, nationally accredited centers were chosen to highlight their innovative and effective programming. During the luncheon, we will also present the NISC Founders Award and National Accreditation Awards

Capitol Steps Entertainment

Saturday, March 31 | 6:00–7:00 pm

Free to attendees; companion ticket: $25.

The infamous improv group Capitol Steps will perform their unique brand of political satire. Started by a group of Senate staffers, the Capitol Steps have been amusing audiences for 30 years. Enjoy a good laugh after a full day of sessions.

 

DC Lights! Tour

Saturday, March 31 | 7:30–10:30 pm

Fee: $60 (Open to the first 100 registrants; pre-registration required)

Climb aboard a comfortable coach and see the highlights of Washington, DC. The bus will pick you up at the hotel and take you on a three-hour discovery tour. Sites include the US Capitol Building, World War II Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial, Washington Monument, White House, and Martin Luther King Memorial. A professional tour guide will describe what you are seeing and provide historical background.
