  • Conferences
At the ASA-NCOA Joint Conference each spring, HAN offers a full track of healthcare and aging-related sessions, as well as a peer group meeting, a reception, and informal opportunities for networking and socializing. In addition, HAN organizes intensives on healthcare and aging issues during ASA's Summer Series on Aging, an annual training series for professionals who work with older adults.
  • Networking
In addition to contact with other HAN members, HAN fosters links among practitioners, educators, researchers, policymakers, service providers, administrators, business people, and other interested individuals and groups. In addition, HAN works with other healthcare organizations and publications to encourage greater understanding about the healthcare needs of older adults.
  • Awards Programs
With support from Pfizer, HAN sponsors the annual Healthcare and Aging Award, which recognizes programs that demonstrate high quality, innovative and integrated approaches to chronic care. In partnership with Extendicare, HAN and ASA sponsor Innovations in Recruitment, Retention and Promotion of Nursing Assistants in Long-Term Care.
