Guidelines for the Management of Alzheimer’s Disease

This webinar will present care recommendations derived from the new California Guideline for Alzheimer's Disease Management, an evidence-based practice guideline for practitioners. A patient-based learning approach will be used.

Participants will learn:

  • Components of a comprehensive assessment
  • Components of a treatment plan
  • Behavioral management
  • Importance of patient & caregiver support & education

Speaker : Debra Cherrya clinical psychologist and Executive Vice President of the Alzheimer's Association, California Southland where she oversees program development and advocacy on behalf of people living with dementia. She is an assistant clinical professor at both U.S.C.’s Department of Psychology and U.C.L.A.’s Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences. She is the co-chair of the California Workgroup for Guidelines for Alzheimer’s Disease Management. In 2003, she was the recipient of the national Rosalynn Carter Caregiving Award.
