Call for Proposals to Present at On Aging 2021, ASA's Annual Conference

On Aging 2021 - ASA's Annual Conference - Call for Proposals Now Open

On Aging 2021
ASA’s Annual Conference
April 6 – 8, 2021

The American Society on Aging is proud to open the Call for Proposals to our annual conference, On Aging2021.
The Call for Proposals to present at ASA’s annual conference will be open through September 30.

We are living and working in uncertain times. Collectively, we are facing systemic challenges brought on by the pandemic, sharpening our focus on disparities that have been growing for decades, and recognizing opportunities to rebuild and redefine how we live. This moment brings enormous opportunities for older adults and the field. We invite you to lead and join discussions about the impacts of this era on aging.

ASA’s impact is guided by five intersecting areas: social justice, health and wellbeing, economic security, ageism and culture, and innovation and social impact. As we move into 2021, we want to especially consider how the issue of equity intertwines all of these areas.

To that end, we welcome submissions that focus on the intersections of aging and social justice, ageism and culture, economic security, health and wellness, and innovation and social impact – and how these intersections influence and are influenced by the drive toward an equitable society for all ages. We especially welcome submissions that examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on older adults through these lenses.

ASA’s annual conference has always been an opportunity to connect and share ideas and resources. Over the past few months, we’ve learned a great deal about the importance of creating these in new ways. We are drawing from this to build ways for our community to come together even in the face of health risk and economic impacts brought by the pandemic. For the first time, ASA will convene new virtual events in the months leading up to the conference, to generate ideas and discussion that will be carried into conference programming, along with your accepted submissions. Our current vision is that On Aging 2021 will be a forum to continue conversations with a mix of in-person and virtual events.

We hope you will join us, and submit a proposal to On Aging 2021 by September 30, 2020.
