ASA Supports Reestablishment of House Select Committee on Aging

ASA has joined with other Leadership Council of Aging Organizations (LCAO) in calling on the new Democratic leadership of the House of Representatives to reestablish the House Select Committee on Aging.

In a letter to members of the U.S. House of Representatives, LCAO notes that with nearly 75 million people expected to be age 65 or older in the United States by 2030, the need for services provided under programs like Social Security, SSI, Medicare, Medicaid and the Older Americans Act will increase correspondingly, and that an HSCoA could more fully explore a range of issues and innovations that cross jurisdictional lines .
