GrandmaJoan_Logo.pngIn recent years there have been several legislative and regulatory changes shaping the way families approach their plans to age in place and receive care at home. As consumer-directed care has become one of the fastest-growing segments of the home care industry, experts anticipate a significant increase in the number of privately employed live-in caregivers.

Tom Breedlove, senior director of Care.com HomePay, and David Petroski, founder of Grandma Joan’s LLC, will share information professionals need to know in order to advise clients who privately employ a caregiver, outside of a home-care agency setting, with a special focus on live-in care.

The session will present cost, compliance and quality control measures influencing live-in cases as Breedlove and Petroski discuss the practical, financial and legal implications of full-time care at home.

By understanding the legal risks and compliance obligations, as well as patient benefits associated with first-party live-in caregiver employment, attendees will be better prepared to successfully guide their clients, and avoid common pitfalls.

Participants in this web seminar will be able to:

  • Identify when live-in care is a viable option for clients, and when it is not;
  • Identify key legislation and trends driving household employment;
  • Describe how to mitigate tax, insurance and labor law risks of private employment; and,
  • Gain access to free tools and resources that can add value to your practice.
